The Haiti Poster Project

JUSTTTT finished this up last night. They're going to print and being submitted to the to "The Haiti Poster Project".
I'll post better images, I commissioned #mom <3 to help stitch some typography for me. Although it is obviously somewhat photo-edited, the detailing came out pretty nice.

Checking-In: Transition

After graduation I was fortunate to be offered an internship (which eventually turned into full-time freelance) with Walter Bernard Design/WBMG (Walter Bernard & Milton Glaser). For me it was the opportunity of a lifetime to work under the art direction of these pioneers. :o)
Of course after a years time it became apparent that I had developed a real interest for design on the web. I had spent the summer before my noted internship slaving to learn as much as I could about web development (and I am far from the title of webmaster—there's so much!!) On that note, I interviewed for a position with mtv.com—where I currently spend my days designing.
As I use one eye to reflect back and the other to look forward, the best advice I can give is to keep your ears open. Pioneer of Design, Junior Designer, Supermarket Cashier... a lot of people have invaluable knowledge and insight that can be applied to design and many other aspects of life.

Vanilla Typeface

Vanilla The name came from the Spanish word “vainilla”, diminutive form of “vaina” (meaning “sheath”), which is in turn derived from Latin “vagina.”

Milton Glaser’s SVA: A Legacy of Graphic Design

School of Visual Arts (SVA) presents Milton Glaser’s SVA: A Legacy of Graphic Design, a 50-year retrospective of nearly 100 works created by Milton for the College, where he has been on the faculty since 1960 and currently serves as acting chairman. The exhibition will include the original artwork for the iconic posters seen by generations of New Yorkers as part of SVA’s ongoing subway campaign, preparatory sketches that will be on public view for the first time, and rare printed pieces like the 1963 announcement for the course Glaser taught at SVA with the late art director Henry Wolf.
